'First Friday Coffee' Networking Event This Morning (and 4 More Things)

    First Friday Coffee: From 8 to 9 a.m. today, the Rhode Island Blood Center, recognized as one of the nation's leading blood donation programs, will host 2014's first First Friday Coffee sponsored by the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce. The professional networking event will be held at the South County Donor Center, located at 14 Woodruff Ave., Narragansett, and will feature coffee, breakfast, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. $5 per person.     Gentle Yoga: Today at 10 a.m., certified yoga instructor Sarah Bell will lead a Gentle Yoga class at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County (27 North Rd., Peace Dale). These slow flowing yoga classes focus on gentle stretching and strengthening poses to enhance ease in the body. Participants will practice breathing awareness to cultivate clarity in the mind and to expand consciousness. Introductory class is free. Click here for pricing details and more information.

    Star Gazing at Frosty Drew Observatory: Tonight and every Friday night at 6 p.m., get star struck at the Frosty Drew Observatory's Public Stargazing Night (61 Park Ln., Charlestown). Be sure to subscribe to the Frost Drew Observatory mailing list or follow them on Twitter (@FrostyDrewOBSY) to receive status updates about the public stargazing program. This is a free event, however donations are greatly appreciated.
