    Gansett Summer Concert: Tonight at 6 p.m., Narragansett Beach’s Casino Park (25 Ocean Rd.) will feature its final free concert of the season at the gazebo. Thursday night's act is the "Black Tie Band"who will perform classic pop, rock and contemporary hits that spectators of all ages can enjoy!

    Rhythm and Roots: Today at 3 p.m., the 16th annual Rhythm and Roots Festival begins at Ninigret Park in Charlestown. The event boasts five performance stages, dance workshops, and a host of family activities that are included in the price of admission. Regional food, shopping and on-site camping also available.     Star Gazing at Frosty Drew Observatory: Fridays at 6 p.m. during fall and winter and shortly after dusk during spring and summer head to the Frosty Drew Observatory in Ninigret Park in Charlestown. See the stars, our moon, the planets and their moons, distant galaxies, and maybe a passing comet, through a big telescope. Weather permitting. Admission is free; donations are appreciated.

    Plan Ahead - Jim Gaffigan at URI: On Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m., the University of Rhode Island's Ryan Center will host comedian, Jim Gaffigan with a Special Guest.
