"Be Aggressive" at URI: Tonight at 7:30 p.m., URI Theatre presents the drama, "Be Aggressive" by Annie Weisman in the Department's J Studio. The production, published in Smith and Kraus' Best Plays of 2001 and by Dramatists Play Service, is the offbeat telling of a classic tale of journey and catharsis in the complicated life of a teenage girl. Aubrey Atwater in Kingston: At 7 p.m. this evening, local musician Aubrey Atwater will perform at Kingston Free Library, located at 2605 Kingstown Road, Kingston. As part of the Library's Free Music Series, Aubrey will present a captivating program of traditional and original folk music performed on guitar, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, Irish tin whistle, mandolin, feet, and old-time banjo.
Learn PowerPoint in Narragansett: From 11 a.m. to noon today, the Narragansett Public Library (35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett) will offer a free Microsoft PowerPoint basics class for those just beginning to learn how to use the program. Participants will learn how to create slideshow presentations that are widely used in most classrooms and offices. Basic computer skills are necessary. Pre-registration is required. Postponed - 'SuperDogs' at URI: The SuperDogs "Wild, Wild Woof" show, scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the URI Ryan Center has been postponed until May 2, 2014. A new show time will be determined in the near future. All Oct. 11 tickets will be honored on May 2. Click here for more details and refund information.
