Back to School Night: From 6-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, families are invited to the Village Green (325 Columbia St., Peace Dale) for one last outdoor summer concert before school begins! This week's event will feature the beloved duo, Toe Jam Puppet Band, who will have everyone dancing at their seats in no time! Don't forget your chairs or blankets!
Get star struck at the Frosty Drew Observatory's Public Stargazing Night (61 Park Ln., Charlestown), tonight and every Friday night at 6 p.m. Be sure to subscribe to the Frost Drew Observatory mailing list or follow them on Twitter (@FrostyDrewOBSY) to receive status updates about our public stargazing program. This is a free event, however donations are greatly appreciated.
Be a Sports Blogger! Are you crazy about Narragansett and/or South Kingstown sports? Gansett-SK Patch is looking for bloggers for the fall sports season, whether it be youth, high school, college or professional. If you're interested, or know a player, coach or parent who might be, have them send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or simply click here for all of the details and instructions!
Summer Concert at the Gazebo: There's still enough summer left for a couple more outdoor concerts, right?? Head down to Narragansett Beach’s Gazebo Park (25 Ocean Rd.) tonight for a free evening of music in the gazebo with "Low B" who will entertain the crowd with funk, hip hop and rock selections! This free event at Casino Park starts at 6 p.m.
RX Drop Box: Narragansett residents looking to dispose of excess and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications can now deposit them, no questions asked, in a permanent, secure drop box located in the lobby of the Narragansett Police Department at 40 Caswell Street. The Narragansett Prevention Partnership purchased the new MedReturn Drug Collection Unit in partnership with the Narragansett Police Department. The collection site is available 24/7. Needles and liquids are not allowed.
