'Creative Word' Writing Group Meetings Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    The Creative Word: Today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Neighborhood Guild, the SK Parks & Recreation Dept. will host The Creative Word, a writing group that provides writers with a new idea prompt each week, along with supportive critique and discussion. Instructor Linda Langlois has a BA from URI in English and journalism and has published poetry and essays in newspapers and journals. $3 per person.

    Holiday Customer Appreciation: Tonight from 5 to 9 p.m., Silver Tides and OneWay Gallery, located at 140 Boon Street in Narragansett, will host a Customer Appreciation Holiday Event. The evening will feature psychic readings by Sharon, Reiki by Cherie of Reiki World and chair massages by Annie Powell.

    Computer Basics in Narragansett: From 11 a.m. to noon today, the Narragansett Public Library (35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett) will offer a free Internet Basics class for those just beginning to learn how to use the World Wide Web. An instructor will guide participants in how to get online, use a browser and more. Basic computer knowledge including ability to use a mouse and keyboard is required.

    Winter Emergency Notifications: With winter fast approaching, Narragansett and South Kingstown officials are urging residents to sign up to be notified of emergencies and other important news using each town's community notification system.
