Narragansett Library to Offer Free MS Word Class Today (and 4 More Things)

    Microsoft Word Instruction in Narragansett: Today from 11 a.m. to noon, the Narragansett Public Library (35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett) will offer a free Microsoft Word class for those who would like to learn how to use the popular word processing program. In this class, participants will learn how to do basic formatting, how to copy and paste, how to insert images, how to check your document for spelling and grammar errors, and how to save and print. Note: Familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse is necessary. For more information, call the Library at 401-789-9507.

    Winter Emergency Notifications: Narragansett and South Kingstown officials are urging residents to sign up to be notified of emergencies and other important news using each town's community notification system. This enables the Town to provide essential information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, fires, floods, unexpected road closures, or evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods. Narragansett residents click here and South Kingstown residents click here for step-by-step instructions on how to sign up.

    URI Football: As of Dec. 23, fans of URI Football can now place a non-refundable $25 deposit down on season tickets for the 2014 football season today by clicking here. Note: Deposits are required for new season ticket holders only.
