More About Saugatucket Veteran's Memorial Park
Saugatucket Park is a medium-sized park that provides a little bit of everything for everyone. For those interested in American History, there is a memorial in the southeast corner of the park, commemorating residents of South County who fought in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. For families, there is a playground in the northwest area of the park. Nature lovers would be best served investigating Sari's Sanctuary in the northeast corner, a observation deck jutting out over the river. Just above the sanctuary, there is a foot bridge connecting the park and Peacedale Elementary School to Old Wakefield. The majority of the park is made up of a large grass field, thus providing a number of entertainment possibilities.
