Narragansett High School is the home of the Mariners and it houses about 100 students per grade level on average. Its athletic facilities are on its South Pier Road campus, with the middle school further down on South Pier Road, toward Ocean Road and the pier. Students at the school test well above the state average in reading, writing and mathematics and also graduate at a higher rate than other communities.

Construction on the school was completed in time for the September class of 1975, after an initial bond was approved in 1972. At the time, the site was known as Canonchet Farms.
