This four-week course acquaints students with the beautiful, line-sensitive art of etching, in which they weill experience the thrill of creating multiple prints. The class introduces exciting, new, health-conscious techniques for non-toxic, zinc plate etching, replacing the dangerous methods of the past. Students will work towards creating an edition, which will result in an exchange portfolio at the completion of the course. Please see SCAA website for materials list.
Instructor: Jill Cook
Jill studied painting and printmaking at Rhode Island College where she earned her BFA as well as a BA in Art History in 2007. Her prints have been exhibited nationally in universities and museum galleries. She is currently pursuing her MFA in interdisciplinary studies at the Vermont College of Fine Art.

More About South County Art Association Studio
The South County Art Association is a private studio for association members and students only. Classes at the studio, however, are offered frequently. These classes, both 2D and 3D, include ceramics, stone carving, print making, painting, watercolor and photography. Studio memberships are offered, and can be obtained next door at the South County Art Association's Helme House.
