I'm Tired of the Games

For decades, Narragansett has mooched off of the Dunes Club fireworks for the bubble. Now they are going to use beach money? Why doesn't Hagopian get her bank to sponsor the town's share, if she is so concerned about costs? Maybe Wilkens can run a lemonade stand out in front of his house to raise a few campaign bucks. Very few businesses will get much income from this event as everyone bails out of town after the show. Never see too many locals at these events, just some of those "quality tourists" who spend nothing and take their business to Wakefield or elsewhere. Will these visitors be able to park in the mostly vacant PierMarket Place or is that reserved for the elite "quality tourists" who will bring their own coolers and snacks by invitation of Gilbane?

I always liked the fireworks display at the Winter Festival in Narragansett where plenty of locals attend. I am glad the fireworks are back and the wildlife isn't harmed by them. I have lived in South Kingstown my whole life and we always attend the events in Narragansett we LOVE it~

I hope the weather holds out for this. It is a treat for me, a long time resident of Gansett, and my family to view the fireworks. I will be packing our snacks and drinks for times are hard right now, and the cost of the local businesses is far beyond my budget! Again I am happy this is back in our little town, and I hope the weather holds out for us! Happy 4th everyone!
