The URI Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the University Percussion Ensemble will present a concert with pieces inspired and influenced by African, Asian and Middle Eastern music and landscapes, among other works for percussion and wind band. The Percussion Ensemble, directed by Keith Aleo, will perform Mancini’s Suite for Solo Drum Set and Percussion Ensemble and The Swords Of Moda-Ling by Gordon Peters. The wind ensemble’s program will include Robert Washburn’s Kilimanjaro: An African Portrait and Samuel Hazo’s Arabesque among other works. Gene J. Pollart directs. Come hear URI's finest musicians perform a program to fire up your imagination!
