“Music from the Age of Columbus”, a concert of Renaissance and other music, will be held to benefit the Partners in Health work with earthquake victims in Haiti.
The Delight Consort will play music of the Spanish and Italian Renaissance and "Music for Antique Sailors," including works by composers Juan Vazquez and Christobal Morales on recorders and cello, pieces from the Cancionero de Palacio collected at the court of Ferdinand and Isabella on early brass instruments, a Suite from Handel's Water Music and a hornpipe group of authentic traditional sailor's dances on tinwhistle. Solo Harpsichord music to be performed will be a group by 16th century Venetian composer Giovanni Picchi, a wandering psalm by Valencian Baroque composer Juan Baptista Cabanilles, and a piece written in 1992 by Columbian composer J. A. Barradas-Romero.
Judith Conrad, the Delight Consort Director, is also the organist/music director at Good Shepherd Church. She has played early keyboard music recently at fringe concerts of the Boston Early Music Festival, at the SouthEast Historic Keyboard Society in Cincinnati, and at festivals in Spain, Scotland and Italy. In addition to harpsichord she will also be playing recorders and sackbutt. Other members of the group are Paul Ukleja, cornett, recorder and tinwhistle, Otto Guzman, cello, recorders, cornett and trombone, and Frank Fitzpatrick, recorders and sackbutt.

More About Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd was given new life with the completion of its new sanctuary in 2009. The chapel feels like a large living room, complete with high wooden ceilings, lots of windows and chairs.
Good Shepherd has a choir, a youth group and a prayer fellowship. Church members are active in supporting local charities, such as the Jonnycake Center, the Welcome House and the Domestic Violence Resource Center.
