The Gift of Hearing Foundation will hold their annual Arts and Crafts Fair on Sunday, November 11th, 2012 from 11 to 4 p.m. at the Narragansett Community Center, 53 Mumford Road in Narragansett, RI. The fair will feature 20 local artisans and include fine art, jewelry, photography, lathed wood, pottery, clothing, hand-painted furniture, quilted baby items, stained glass, pottery, scented soaps, wire bead serving utensils, and knitted goods. A bake sale of holiday goods and treats will also be featured as well as a raffle offering a chance to win items donated by the vendors. No admission fee. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Gift of Hearing Foundation (GOHF) whose mission is to help deaf people get access to and learn about the cochlear implant technology. Bordered by Narragansett Elementary School and Sprague Park, signs direct visitors to the Narragansett Community Center from Kingstown Road. A variety of activities, primarily aimed at senior citizens, are run at the center, and shuttles also allow for trips, doctor visits and other services for residents. Membership in the Narragansett Senior Association is open to anyone 55 and older.
