Each week, Marylou takes a look at some of the notable sights around Narragansett, in picture form.On a chilly Saturday, Sybil the cat ventured out in the cold to try to find a loving person or family to call her own. She is a 3-year-old and likes dogs, kids and is easy going, even when there is a lot of activity or commotion around. You could see proof of this as she calmly took in all the comings and goings at Critter Hut yesterday. She was the star of the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island's Adopt a Pet day. For beach bums and summer lovers, like me, this icy, snow covered January is misery. I ventured out today intending to find people sledding or cross country skiing for this story, but it was eerily quiet out there except for an abundance of joggers who we all know are crazy, err... dedicated enough to run in any weather. (Just kidding, really, love you guys... don't hurt me.) A break in the snow laden clouds hovered above the beach to add a little color to the water while a few hardy souls took to the water. The surfers in their black winter suits resembled seals bobbing on the waves. Meanwhile the sea birds were doing their best to avoid the waves while chowing down on seaweed on the rocks.
