Teehee – Phallus Snow Sculpture on Middlebridge
The headline for this story pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?
According to The Providence Journal, a snow sculpture on Middlebridge Road is making a bit of a stir.
South Kingstown Police told the Journal that while they have received a few complaints about the 10 to 12-foot sculpture, immediate neighbors haven’t complained.
As a result, police said they viewed the sculpture as being protected by free speech.
Want to see it? It does have its own Facebook page, which does have a photo. WARNING: It looks exactly like what it sounds like it would look like. Click here to peek.

A lot about nothing. Let's grow up already.

Yep...kinda like sculpting a giant nose leaking snow boogers into the yard, lol.
Dumb. But then, the maker is a 16-year-old boy.
Makes sense in that context!

Those getting a hard-on over this 'work of art' simply don't understand the freedom of the country they live in. At least the neighbors seem more democratically-minded, despite the stiff resistance of a few prudes who would rather see the 1st Amendment go limp than stand up for free expression.

You know, stupid puns aside, there's an interesting litigious debate to be had here.
If someone decided to pull the real thing out on their front lawn --and stand there, say painting it gold-- would that also be defended as free speech?
I wonder....very interesting!

Whoops! I meant "could"...as in, could it successfully be defended in a court of law as free speech.

Very eloquently said, Portent. Freedom of speech, 1st amendment vs. morals, values, and common sense. hhhmmmnnnnn...........

I'm pleased to see that you recognize that freedom of speech complements, rather than undermines and erodes, morality and logic. Or are you exercising your right to express mordant sarcasm? hmmmmmm.......;-)
