Not Settled in the Graveyard – South Kingstown Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct
Daniel K. Lewis, 44, of 1326 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 7:01 p.m. on Nov. 21 and charged with disorderly conduct.
According to police, they received a report of a drunk man knocking and yelling outside the Church Street Apartments. Police said that when they arrived, the man was identified as Lewis.
Police said that Lewis told them that he got upset when he came over to see a man at one of the apartments, and the man was with one of his ex-girlfriends.
According to police, the tenants of the apartment asked that a no-trespass be issued to Lewis. Police said the order was issued, and the scene was about to be cleared as a result.
However, police said that Lewis refused to leave. Police noted that he asked for a ride to Liberty Rentals, which was 500 feet from the scene – Lewis was told to walk there.
Police said that when he was denied the ride, Lewis told them, “How about you and me settle it over in the graveyard?” Police said he approached the officer with a clenched fist at this time.
According to police, at this point Lewis was arrested without incident. He was transported to headquarters, processed and then released at about 8:55 p.m.
SK Teen Charged With Disorderly Conduct
