Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest

Alexander T. Coburn, 20, of 1213 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:09 p.m. on Nov. 18 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to police, they received multiple complaints from a roommate of Coburn on the night of Nov. 18, claiming that Coburn would refuse to leave his room. Police said that in an attempt to avoid arrests, they initially told the two not to enter the other’s room.

Police said that while speaking to the tenants the second time, Coburn got unruly. While interviewing the victim, police said they could hear Coburn shouting from the other room, “I’ll ****ing kill you. **** you!”

According to police, Coburn then came into the kitchen and said, “I’m going to make some food because I’m ****ing hungry and you can’t stop me.” Police said Coburn continued to make threats, such as, “I’ll kick your ass right here in front of these cops.”

Police said that Coburn refused to calm down, and as a result, he was arrested after a brief struggle. Police noted that during processing, Coburn continued to say that he was going to kill his roommate.

According to police, Coburn consented to a breath test, which revealed a blood alcohol level of .172 at 11:45 p.m. He was processed and then held overnight because of his anger and intoxication level.

URI Student Charged With License Violation

Tyler D. Blanpied, 21, of 94 Queens River Drive, West Kingstown, was arrested at about 1:34 a.m. on Nov. 18 and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police said Blanpied is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer traveling on Saugatucket Road clocked a car driven by Blanpied at 60 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made as a result.

Police said a background check revealed that Blanpied’s license was suspended on Oct. 16 for an unpaid speeding ticket. As a result, he was arrested without incident, processed and then released at about 2:10 a.m.

Narragansett police have also had two contacts with Blanpied. In September 2011, a loud party was broken up at a home he was renting. In October 2011, Blanpied was charged with possession of marijuana.
