Middletown Man Charged With Drunken Driving Second Offense
Anthony M. Booth, 21, of 16 James Francis Terrace, Middletown, was arrested at about 2:24 a.m. on Feb. 16 and charged with drunken driving – second offense – and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
According to police, an officer saw a car driven by Booth swerving on Torrey Road, Arrowhead Trail and Indian Head Trail. A traffic stop was made near Wintman Drive as a result.
Police said that while speaking with Booth, he smelled of alcohol, and officers noted an open bottle of Sailor Jerry Spiced Navy Rum in the car. Police said Booth failed field sobriety tests, at which point he was arrested.
According to police, Booth refused to submit to chemical breath tests at headquarters. He was processed and then released at about 6:15 a.m.
Bobby G’s Customer Arrested for Warrant
Steven C. Robinson, 24, of 43 Evans St., Newport, was arrested at about 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 16. Police said a Superior Court warrant was out for Robinson’s arrest.
According to police, an officer driving through the Bobby G’s parking lot at about 1 a.m. was flagged down by a bouncer. The bouncer told police that Robinson had just been kicked out of the bar, and he was confrontational as a result.
Police said they identified Robinson via an ID card, and a background check revealed the warrant. He was arrested without incident, held at headquarters and transferred to the ACI at about 4:30 a.m.
