SK Bike Day on April 14

Bike Day will also feature a cool bicycle recycle event, which most definitely rhymes. (Thus, extra cool points.)

The First Annual South Kingstown Bike Day will be held on Saturday, April 14, at the South County YMCA at 165 Broad Rock Road.

This event was suggested by residents during community outreach of the South Kingstown Healthy Places by Design Project. For more information on the project, click here

Bike Day is a free event, open to the community, and it is a collaboration between the South County Branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence, the South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department, the South Kingstown Police, W.E. Stedman Co. Bike Shop, Narragansett Bikes, Friends of the William C. O’Neill Bike Path, and other area businesses and community groups.

One of the many activities during Bike Day is the Bicycle Recycle.  Those in need of a bike will have an opportunity to take home a free, refurbished bike.  In preparation for the Bicycle Recycle, the Bike Day organizers are requesting donations of gently used bikes be brought to the South County YMCA by Saturday, April 7.

For more information and registration forms, see the attached PDFs. You can also call the South County Branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence at (401) 783-3900.
