Travis Johnson, 31, is arrested and charged with failing to keep a proper address on file.
Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Travis T. Johnson, 31, of 147 Babcock St., Providence, was arrested at about 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 and charged with failing to inform the state of an address change, which is a felony because of Johnson’s status as a sex offender.
According to police, they received information on Jan. 4 that Johnson was no longer living at a home on River Street, which was his listed address at the time. Police said they went to the home and spoke with the occupant, who said Johnson had not lived there since early December.
Police issued a warrant for Johnson’s arrest, a fourth warrant. Police said three others were already issued – for an assault charge, not paying child support and felony assault.
Providence police picked him up on Feb. 13. South Kingstown police picked up Johnson from Providence Police Headquarters at about 12:23 p.m., processed him and then transferred him to Fourth Division District Court for arraignment at about 1 p.m.
According to online records, in May 2002 Johnson pleaded no contest to a South Kingstown police charge of third degree sexual assault, stemming from contact with a 15-year-old. Johnson was 20 or 21 at the time.
He was initially ordered to serve two years at the ACI, and another year was added after subsequent violations. In October 2005, Johnson pleaded no contest to a Charlestown police charge of felony breaking and entering.
