Poll: Thoughts on the Journal's New Website?

Times, they are a changin' for The Providence Journal.

As part of unveiling a new paywall for its electronic edition, The Providence Journal underwent a pretty drastic website redesign yesterday. You can read more about it here.

In October 2008, the Journal closed its bureau in Wakefield, according to an article in The South County Independent. The office was near what is now Estia and Go Pasta.

According to the Journal’s publisher, Howard G. Sutton, the move comes as a way to stay competitive. In the article linked above, he says that like many major newspaper companies, Journal executives realized that “giving away our content free is not a sound business plan.”
