Drive-Through Nightmare
South Kingstown Police arrested a 46-year-old Pamela Ann Christensen, of 280 Lee Road, South Kingstown, on Friday, Jan. 27 at 3:25 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct. Christensen allegedly threw her Coke at a pregnant manager of the McDonalds on Old Tower Hill Road after they argued over the price of a meal. The victim was not injured.
According to reports, Christensen ordered a No. 12 meal with a coke, which costs $6.90. McDonald’s employees told police that Christensen questioned the total, thinking she was overcharged. After employees explained to her that the sandwich alone would go for a cheaper price than the meal – which comes with fries and a drink – Christensen agreed to pay for the meal. Minutes later, Christensen was back in the drive-through line, this time allegedly screaming to the employees that the listed price for the sandwich was just $4.19. When employees then offered to refund her meal, Christensen refused and demanded the employee leave her post behind the window, walk outside and look at the price. Reports said the employee complied and went outside to look, causing a 10-car jam up at the drive-through line. After checking the price and attempting to refund Christensen’s money for a second time, the McDonalds manager got involved. Christensen finally agreed to take her money back, but instead allegedly took her coke and hurled it through the drive-through window at her.
