Broken Window Leads to Disorderly Conduct Charge, Alcohol Violation

A report of a broken window at a Sakonnet Boulevard home led to the arrest of one man and the citation of another.

• Max Elliot Petti, 20, of 26 Bonnet Shores Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 2:50 a.m. on Nov. 18 and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Petti is a student at the University of Rhode Island.
• Nicholas J. Cardello, 20, of 125 Woodbridge Drive, East Greenwich, was cited at about 2:38 a.m. on Nov. 18 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. Police said Cardello is a student at the University of Vermont.

According to police, they received a report of a man breaking a window at a Sakonnet Boulevard home. Police said they found Petti, Cardello and a third man running from Ocean Road on to Clarke Road.

Police said that when questioned, all three denied involvement. However, a search of Cardello’s backpack revealed a bottle of Smirnoff vodka, a can of Budweiser and a can of Coors Light. The alcohol was confiscated, and Cardello was cited.

According to police, four people at the Sakonnet Boulevard home identified Petti as the man who threw a beer can through a window. They told police that Petti was upset after being asked to leave the house, along with Cardello and the third friend.

Police said Petti was arrested without incident, charged and then released at about 4:10 a.m.

K-9 Search Leads to Narragansett Man Charged With Possession of Marijuana

Casey Clarkin Cianci, 20, of 95 Winterberry Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:39 p.m. on Nov. 18 and charged with possession of marijuana. Police said Cianci is a member of the National Guard.

According to police, an officer was monitoring traffic on Kingstown Road near the exit ramp for Route 1, and saw a car driven by Cianci go through a red light. A traffic stop was made at the South Kingstown town line.

Police said Cianci smelled strongly of marijuana, and noted that there was a pipe in the driver’s side door of the car. When asked if there was more marijuana in the car, police said Cianci told them, “Not that I know of.”

According to police, K-9 unit Goro search the exterior of the car, and indicated that a narcotic was inside. Police said a search then revealed a small baggie of marijuana – later weighed at 5.4 grams – in the center console.

Cianci was arrested without incident, processed and then released at about 5:30 p.m. Police said Cianci was also cited for running the red light.
