Narragansett Teen Charged With Disorderly Conduct Outside Bar
Marciano M. Brunette, 19, of 32 Southern View Drive, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:20 a.m. on Jan. 29 and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said he is a student at the Community College of Rhode Island.
According to police, an officer conducting a bar check on Great Island Road saw a group of about six to 10 men exit a bar. Police said one person – later identified as Brunette – kept yelling obscenities and punched several street signs as he walked down the street.
Police said they asked Brunette to stop, but added that he did not, and continued to punch street signs and swear. He was arrested without incident as a result.
Brunette was processed and released at 1:30 a.m. He was issued a Feb. 7 date for Fourth Division District Court.
URI Student Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor
Corey A. Coogan, 20, of 47 Sherri Drive, Providence, was cited at about Jan. 28 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Coogan is a student at the University of Rhode Island.
According to police, an officer patrolling Point Judith Road near Sea Lea Drive saw a green Honda Accord with a faulty rear plate light. A traffic stop was made near the intersection of Point Judith Road and Galilee Escape Road.
Police said a pill bottle with no label was visible on the back seat. When asked about the bottle, Coogan told police that there had been marijuana in it.
According to police, a search of the car revealed no marijuana. However, on the front passenger side floor was a six-pack of Miller Lite beer, and behind the driver’s seat was a bottle of Captain Morgan. When asked if there was any more alcohol in the car, Coogan told police there was in the trunk.
Police said a search of the trunk revealed an 18-pack and a 30-pack of Bud Light beer. A passenger in the car was a 21-year-old Narragansett man.
Coogan was cited for the alcohol, which was confiscated by police and destroyed. He was issued a Fourth Division District Court date for Feb. 7.
