Narragansett Police Log: January 1, 2013
It was a relatively quiet New Year’s Eve going into New Year’s Day for Narragansett police.
Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Mississippi Student Cited for Alcohol
Daniel R. Coogan, 18, of 31 Wintergreen Drive, Middletown, was cited at about 12:55 a.m. on Jan. 1 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. Police said Coogan is a student at the University of Mississippi.
According to police, an officer saw Coogan walking near Gardenia Lane and Joy Lane with a clear glass bottle in his hands. The officer confirmed that the bottle was Smirnoff Vodka, and that Coogan was underage, and he was cited for the violation.
- At about 3 a.m. on Jan. 1, police received a report of a loud party at 36 Sarasota Avenue.
According to police, about 40 people were at the party, and loud yelling and chanting could be heard from outside the home. Police said the party was cleared without incident.
The tenants were identified as Christopher P. D’Agostino and Christopher Alfano, 19, and Eric S. Cannistraci, 20. Police said the public nuisance form was signed.
- At about 12:56 a.m. on Jan. 1, police received a report of a loud party at 37 Sakonnet Boulevard.
According to police, about 20 people were at the party, with loud yelling and four illegally parked cars. Police said the party was cleared without incident.
The tenants were identified as David R. Boelter and Stephen M. Cooper, 21. Police said that several guests left with alcohol, but background checks revealed that they were at least 21.
