Narragansett Man Charged With Domestic Offenses

According to police, they received a report of a man jumping out of a moving van and then yelling at massing cars on Sand Hill Cove Road.
Police said that based on the description of the man, the address of the incident and past arrests of Steele, they believed that he was the person yelling. They responded to his residence, and heard him arguing with a family member from outside.
According to police, after knocking on the door, Steele said, “Go ahead dad, shoot me in the head!” Police then opened a storm door to gain entrance, at which point they observed Steele shove a family member from behind, to the ground.
Police arrested Steele without incident. They noted that he was crying hysterically and appeared to be highly intoxicated. The family member didn’t want to provide police with a written statement, but told them he and Steele had been drinking at Buster Crab’s, and then argued during the van ride home.
According to police, Steele is the registered owner of a handgun. As a condition of his bail, he agreed to surrender the gun, which police confiscated. He was formally released at about 10:43 p.m.
