- At 1 p.m., No. 2N Classical (19-5, 14-4 Division II-North) faces No. 3S Prout (15-8, 11-7 Division II-South).
- At 3 p.m., No. 2S Narragansett (18-4, 16-2 Division II-South) faces No. 3N Scituate (15-6, 13-5 Division II-North).
- At 5 p.m., No. 1N Moses Brown (17-2, 17-1 Division II-North) faces No. 4S East Greenwich (12-10, 10-8 Division II-South).
- At 7 p.m., No. 1S Rogers (18-4, 16-2 Division II-South) faces No. 4N Johnston (12-10, 12-6 Division II-North).
The opening round went all-chalk, as the remaining eight teams all defeated the underdogs. Last year’s champion, Prout, remains alive, but the runner-up – No. 8 seed Mount St. Charles – was eliminated by Rogers.
The winners will play 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 at Rhode Island College in Providence. The Division II championship is Saturday, March 10 at the Ryan Center in Kingston.

Did anyone see the eg vs. moses brown game???? That was the most UNFAIR game i have ever seen in my entire life. Eg=1 Mb=33 from the foul line ....who has ever seen that before. They need to have better officials and and maybe send them through more training. EG would have one if you took all foul shots away. Eg outscored them.

Hi Basketball Lover - You might as well have said, "Well if they made all their shots, they would have won." While the foul disparity was 6-0 or 7-0 at one point in the second half, it's also a function of how EG plays. They were down most of the second half and had to press aggressively, and they tend to be a team that plays physical to begin with.
The issue was more that on offense, when EG did get open jumpers, they didn't hit them. If I recall correctly, they didn't hit a non-layup until there was a minute left in the first half. (That might have been the Prout game though.) In contrast, the Moses Brown vs. Narragansett semifinal, Moses Brown didn't commit a foul until a minute into the second half, but Narragansett still led pretty much the entire game because they were hitting jumpers and getting offensive rebounds. MB plays a very, very disciplined game, and until they played Narragansett, nobody seemed to rattle them this year.
