Ladies Night on Main Street drew a steady crowd to downtown Wakefield  Thursday night. Shops stayed open until 9:00 p.m. with many of them holding special sales and offering refreshments to their visitors.

The street looked festive with balloons and sidewalk displays, and there were plenty of folks having an ice cream at Brickley’s and enjoying the outdoor tables at Pier Pizza. The temporary tattoo booth set up between the Kenyon Building and Therapy Boutique enjoyed a brisk business and further up Main St. henna tattoos by Donna Lyons were being admired. Janeeska Boutique was crowded and next door lawyer Debra Chernick had a display outside her office and served strawberries and sparkling cider while discussing her movement Para-Kin.

The warm and sunny weather contributed to a vacation feeling to the night as friends greeted each other outside of Purple Cow and Basketcase. Stories, an antique and consignment store, was the furthest one up Main St. to participate.

Off Main, on Robinson, the deck at Graphic Expressions, Jennifer’s Chocolates and Wink! Boutique was busy with customers and table massages were being offered. A wagon, pulled by two breath taking draft horses from Side Hill Farm in Hopkinton was on hand to give rides.
