District Court Log: July 21, 2011
The following cases were head before Associate Judge Mary McCaffrey in Fourth Division District Court, Wakefield.
- Marian A. Gernier, 31, of 181 Gravelly Hill Rd. in South Kingstown pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of .15 percent or greater on July 10 in South Kingstown. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for August 4.
- Bellal L. Abualia, 42, of 364 Curtis Corner Rd. entered no plea to a charge of felony assault with a dangerous weapon and pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault on July 8 in South Kingstown. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and a felony screening date in superior court has been scheduled for September 6.
- Raymond P. Matteson, 31, of 280 Bradford Rd. in Bradford pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct on April 30 in South Kingstown. He was sentenced to a six-month suspended prison term at the ACI and six months of probation, in addition to $228.90 in fines and fees.
- Ryan Marinacci, 18, of 68 Renfrew Avenue in Ottowa, British Columbia was dismissed of charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and transportation of alcohol by a minor after he pleaded no contest to possession of alcohol by a minor. He received a 60-day loss of his license and was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service, in addition to $153.50 in fines and fees. A charge of obstructing an officer in the execution of their duty is still pending, a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for October 6.
- Tyler Phelan, 25, of 19 Eldred Ct. in Wakefield pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of greater than .15 percent on July 7 in South Kingstown. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for July 28.
- David L. Pickard, 20, of 29 Old North Rd. in South Kingstown pleaded no contest to a charge of driving with a suspended license on July 8 in South Kingstown. The case was dismissed upon payment of $94.50 in costs with no further loss of license.
- Rochelle White, 55, of 5 Hogan Ave. in Narragansett pleaded not guilty to a charge of misdemeanor larceny from the South Kingstown Recreation Department on July 6. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for August 11.
- Harold Weeden, 45, of 188 High St. in South Kingstown entered no plea to a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, on July 20 in South Kingstown. He was released on $10,000 bail and a felony screening conference has been scheduled for September 6.
