5 THINGS: Writing Fiction and Camp Fuller

Check out two neat events, and some other miscellaneous info, in today's Five Things.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Saturday, March 16, 2013:

Tip #1: Don’t start with “It was a dark and stormy night.” Author Jennifer Mills Kerr will be hosting a free seminar on fiction writing at 11 a.m. at Peace Dale Library. For more info, click here.

In addition to the normal open houses, here’s another one! Camp Fuller is hosting an open house at 10 a.m. For more info, click here.

Register for the Easter Bunny! The South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 23. For more info about registering, click here.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Latvian Legion Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know.

And I think we all remember what a sweet ride that was. On this day in 1968, General Motors produced its millionth car, the Oldsmobile Toronado (not a typo).

You’re no Diamond Dave, but you’re still cool. Happy 22nd birthday to Wolfgang Van Halen!
