5 THINGS: So Much More To Do! So Much More To See!

Repetition is the soul of wit. Also, we’ve got baseball and jazz today, a great combination – Just ask Bernie Williams.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Sunday, April 29, 2012:

Catch the blue, jazzy wave at the Towers today. The Towers will be hosting the South County Jazz and Blues Wave today from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door, with proceeds going toward Narragansett High School music programs and Narragansett Parks and recreation. The partial lineup:

  • Saxophonist and recording artist Dan Moretti
  • Chris Vachon and Doug Woverton of Roomful of Blues
  • The Narragansett High School big band
  • George Masso
  • Marty Richards
  • Marty Ballou
  • Dennis McCarthy

Happy 50th, Narragansett Little League! Opening day is today at 1 p.m., and it’ll feature a parade in from the tennis courts for the league players, followed by a Pitch, Hit and Run competition. There will be a food, raffle and baseball. For a whole slew of Little League links, check here.

NOTE: Kingstown Road closing. Because of the above item, traffic will be limited on Kingstown Road from around 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Please plan accordingly.

And hey… Speaking of jazz and baseball, Bernie Williams is kind of famous for his guitar-playing, which is jazz-influenced. You can hear some of it on YouTube here.

Happy birthday, third-best Starfleet captain! While Captain Janeway was definitely no Kirk or Picard, she was serviceable at least. So congrats to Katherine Mulgrew, who turns 56 today. (And actually, I guess she might be fourth or worse, if you factor in Sulu, who eventually became a captain, and Riker, and…)
