5 THINGS: Rain, Rain, Go Away…
The weather simply isn’t cooperating for some of our Five Things today.
Here are the (more than) Five Things for Wednesday, May 9, 2012:
You can bike to school (if it wasn’t raining so much)! Today is Bike and Walk to School Day… except that it is pouring outside as I type this at about 5:45 a.m. So, be prepared to take a mulligan on this for today, unfortunately.
No vampires allowed. The Rhode Island Blood Center is hosting a blood drive at the McGrath Judicial Complex on Tower Hill Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Something appropriate for the tiny kids! Feel free to take the kids to the 3-to-5-year-old story time at the Peace Dale Library. Drop-ins are welcome, but please register ahead of time if you can. The fun starts at 10:30 a.m.
Something appropriate for the very tiny kids! Have children even younger than the previous item? Maury Loontjens Memorial Library also has story time at 10:30 a.m., but for preschoolers. And the Kingston Free Library has a story time at 10:30 a.m. for 2-year-olds. Basically, Wednesday is a big day for reading, apparently. (I mean, you’re reading this right now, right, not using The Force?)
Mingle! The Narragansett Chamber of Commerce is hosting Networking at Noon at PJ’s Pub. The cost is $12, and please RSVP.
Register for Narragansett or South Kingstown summer camp! Narragansett Parks and Recreation is now taking registrations for its summer camp program, which begins June 25. The cost is $135, and the camp typically runs into late August. South Kingstown is also holding registrations, and to see their summer camp guide, go here.
Blog blog blog blog blogggggg. At Narragansett-South Kingstown Patch, we’re always looking for new bloggers, despite our obnoxiously long name. If you’d like free exposure for your existing blog, or simply want to start writing, feel free to shoot an email to Stephen.greenwell@patch.com to get the process started. You can write about WHATEVER you’d like!
Sometimes, don’t we all go to extremes? Happy 63rd birthday to Billy Joel.
