5 Things: President's Day, Blood Drives and Stories

Five things to know today in SK, Monday, Feb. 20, 2012:

 

1. Town offices will be closed today in observance of President's Day.

2. Rhode Island South County Donor Center will be holding a blood drive today at River Bend Athletic Club, 316 Columbia St., South Kingstown.

The Rhode Island Blood Center is the only source of blood and blood products for the hospitals' of Rhode Island while also serving customers in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

The Center must collect 240 to 280 pints of blood daily to meet the needs of its community, relying on the generosity of volunteer blood donors.

3. Remember, there will be no Drop-In Storytime at the Peace Dale Library this week.

5. Skies today will be sunny. Highs will reach into the low-40s today and dip into the 20s during the night. Tomrrow will be sunny and mild again.
