5 THINGS: Planning, Government and Hauntings
The planning board meets, plus other government stuff, and some haunted occurrences!
Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, October 11, 2012:
“Everything is changing. People are taking their comedians seriously and the politicians as a joke.” – Will Rogers. Here are today’s government meetings:
- The South Kingstown Waterfront Advisory Commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Neighborhood Guild.
- The South Kingstown Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. at town hall.
- Narragansett Municipal Court meets at 6 p.m. at town hall.
- The Narragansett Town Manager Search Committee meets at 6 p.m. in the large boardroom of town hall. This is followed by a special session of the town council in executive session at 6:30 p.m.
Not about telephones, so don’t bother Beyonce. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. They meet every week, you know, so swing by for fellowship, lunch and a guest speaker.
“I like to tell people I have the heart of a small boy, then I tell them it’s in a jar on my desk.” – Robert Bloch. The Haunted Courthouse opens at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10. Not enough haunting fun times for you? Check out the Haunts of Little Rest Hill with the Pettaquamscutt Historical Society at 7:30 p.m. for $15.
Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s National Coming Out Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).
Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!
Psych! This day doesn’t exist in 1582 in Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain, because of the implementation of the Gregorian calendar.
Don’t worry, he’ll still be playing a fresh-faced 19-year-old in his next role. Happy 46th birthday to Coy Luther Perry III, a.k.a. Luke Perry!
