Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, February 28, 2013:
“Greg Giraldo has the grace of a swan, the wisdom of an owl, the eye of an eagle – Ladies and gentleman, this man is for the birds!” – Norm MacDonald. Alan Powers, the author of BirdTalk, will be talking about birds at the Peace Dale Library at 7 p.m. The speech is free, even!
“Democracy means that anyone can grow up to be president, and anyone who doesn’t grow up can be vice president.” – Johnny Carson. Here are today’s government meetings:
- Narragansett Probate Court meets at 10 a.m.
- Narragansett Municipal Court meets at 6 p.m.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!
Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s National Science Day in India. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).
Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know.
Her blurb on Wikipedia said “Russian” and “supermodel,” so of COURSE I clicked. Happy 30th birthday to Natalia Vodianova! (And yes, she is absolutely a Russian supermodel.)
