5 Things: Millionaire, Parenting And Taxes

Five things you need to know today, Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012:

 

1. He's in the money:  Jeremy Blais, a 25-year-old pharmacist from South Kingstown, won $250,000 Wednesday during an appearance on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," reported "The Providence Journal" yesterday. For more information, click here.

2. Problems with parenting?  Fear not, the Parents Council will meet today at 10:30 a.m. at Brewed Awakenings.

3.The Education Exchange will host the VITA free tax preparation and filing program for people with an income of less than $49,000. All VITA volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS.

The program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3-6:30 p.m. from Jan. 24 to April 12 at its headquarters, 33 North Road, Wakefield.
