5 THINGS: La La La La Laaaaa!
There is wonderful music being played tonight. Plus, a bunch of other stuff.
Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, April 5, 2012:
A special concert at a special venue. The annual Narragansett High School spring concert is at 7 p.m. tonight at the Towers. Admission is $5. Go, because it’ll probably be awesome.
Multiple book groups! (Because more than one book exists in the world.) The Brown Bag Book Group meets at noon today at the Kingston Free Library. They’ll be discussing Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. As the name of the group suggests, attendees are invited to bring their lunch with them, and cookies and light refreshments will be provided. The “Guys Read” Book Club, which is aimed at seventh and eighth grade boys, meets at 4 p.m. at Peace Dale Library. They’ll be discussing Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings. Both groups are free.
Note: Not about traffic. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. today. For more information, click here.
“Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.” – P.J. O’Rourke. The Economic Development Committee meets at 7 p.m. tonight at South Kingstown Town Hall, in an attempt to prove Mr. O’Rourke wrong.
Shameless self-promotion alert! Make your Good Friday a Very Good Friday by attending my office hour from noon to 1 p.m. Right now, I’m planning on being at the Coffee and Bagel Connection in Bonnet Shores. Feel free to swing by if you’d like to meet the guy behind Narragansett-South Kingstown Patch, or as the kids call me, Steve Patch or Mr. Patch.
