5 THINGS: Get Fit! Get Wizards! Get Yoda!

There are a variety of activities in today’s Five Things.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, August 16, 2012:

Get fit! (If you’re a woman.) There is a fit camp class for women 6:30 a.m. each Thursday at Curtis Corner Middle School. The admission cost is $10.

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a nerdy muggle wizard… Learn the ins and outs of cartooning at 11 a.m. at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library in Narragansett. The program is free, and focuses on Star Wars and Harry Potter characters. If you can’t make it at 11, there is another session at 12:30 p.m.

Nom nom nom! Looking for some good eats? There is a free lunch for kids at the Pier Middle School in Narragansett at 11:30 a.m. courtesy of the Narragansett Lions Club.

BLOOD! The bloodmobile will be at the URI Bay Campus today, starting at noon. At 5 p.m., it moves over to the YMCA on Broad Rock Road.

Not about telephones, so don’t bother Beyonce. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. They meet every Wednesday, you know, so swing by for fellowship, lunch and a guest speaker.

You can learn all about trolls, spamming and 4chan. An Internet 102 course will be taught at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library at 2 p.m. It’s free!

Walk and learn, learn and walk. There will be a coastal walk with the Narrow River Land Trust at the Garrison House Acres. It’s free, and starts at 5:30 p.m.

Party on! Excellent! The free concert series continues at the South County Commons at 6 p.m. today.
