Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, July 6, 2012:
Mmm, good conversation and coffee! Experience Real Estate on Arnold Street in Wakefield is hosting its “First Friday” coffee event from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. today. The cost is $5.

Narragansett summer concert series starts tonight! Check out the Rhode Island Rednecks at 6 p.m. at Gazebo Park. Admission is free.
“My god, it’s full of stars!” If you have an interest in astronomy, well, Frosty Drew is the place for you tonight. They are holding an observation starting at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The event is held every Friday, in case you can’t make it today. For more info, click here.
Do you like watching people run around? If so, you should make the hike up to Rhode Island College, as it is hosting the Hershey Track and Field meet. The meet starts at 5 p.m. Make the drive to see some of the state’s best runners between the ages of 9 and 14.
Goddard Park + farming = crazy delicious. There will be a farmers’ market at the park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
Blogging, events, letters, what more could you want? Many people often ask me, “Hey are you the Patch guy?” And the answer is yes, yes I am. Then, most often they want to know how they can get things on the site. Let me present you with three options:
- The easiest way for me is if you use our blog form. If you have a user account, congrats! You can submit directly to our queue by going here. For more info on blogging, go here.
- If you think your item is more appropriate for the events calendar, that's a simple enough process as well. Go here, and then hit the “Add An Event” button at the bottom of the page. (Note: You might want to search for your event first, since we do have a calendar editor that adds things on her own awesome initiative.)
- Finally, do you need some input before posting? Or do you have a release that is more of a traditional “letter to the editor” thing? Fine then – send it along to me, either at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would like to receive your periodical on a full-time daily basis. If that's the case, then you can get it in your e-mail box, bright and early each morning, by going here.
The guy played by Patrick Stewart in Robin Hood: Men In Tights, a cornerstone of great cinema. On this day in 1189, Richard I was crowned King of England.
Bum bum bum bum bum bum! Duh duh duhhhh! Happy 66th birthday to Sylvester Stallone.
