It’s Festivus for the rest of us this December as Twenty40 holds its holiday event. North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals group, Twenty40, is putting on a Festivus Party on Thursday, December 13 at The Pink Chair Consignments from 5:30 to 7 p.m. You don't have to be an NK Chamber member to attend!

For those unfamiliar with Festivus, it is a holiday made popular by the sitcom Seinfeld. But, you don’t have to be a Seinfeld fan to enjoy this young professionals event.

Air your grievances with the local business climate in Rhode Island during our Airing of Grievances. (Constructive, comical and/or kooky grievances are all encouraged.) Learn how to do “Feats of Strength” right in your workplace with the help of Laid-Back Fitness’ Ryan McGowan.

To get even more in the Festivus spirit, the ladies at The Pink Chair are setting up a Costanza-like section for our festivities – complete with plastic-wrapped furniture in the name of authenticity.

The Chamber will also be accepting donations for the North Kingstown Food Pantry. Any non-perishable foods, gift cards to grocery stores, etc. will be appreciated.

November’s Twenty40 event was unfortunately cancelled due to complications following Hurricane Sandy and Winter Storm Athena. Since the Twenty40 gang has been itching for an event, we’re going all out for December’s Festivus celebration.

Admission is $10 and includes food and a drink ticket.

Bring your strength, your grievances and food for the North Kingstown Food Pantry. Come join. Maybe you’ll even see a Festivus miracle or two.
